Thoughts on the society we live in and the norms we follow.
I often have thoughts about the society we live in and the norms that it dictates. For a person growing up and testing the rules and norms of the society they live in through trial and error, these norms seem clear and defined at first. But the more a person goes through life and experiences different situations, the more they come to understand that most of what we are offered is a lie that we are forced to believe...
We come into this world, and the people around us start telling us how the world works and how we should behave. However, as time passes, we can observe that the same people who teach us these norms often don't follow them themselves.
I can demonstrate this with a specific example. A health insurance organization that claims its primary goal is to care for and preserve the health of its clients actually introduces a rule that allows a prescription to be obtained only for a year. After that, according to their regulations, a person is required to attend a doctor's appointment, pay for it, and only then can they get an extension. And this is despite the fact that the medication itself is not provided to the person with a prescription for free: the person pays for the medication, and on top of that, they are also required to pay for a doctor's appointment every year to extend their prescription. The insurance company tries to justify this by saying, "Well, we need to make sure that your health condition still requires and allows this medication. It's for your own good," they say. However, at the same time, their concern somehow boils down to the fact that a person has to pay money for a doctor's appointment to improve their health with the medication. It doesn't matter that this medication has been used for 15 years, and everything that a doctor could advise has already been said 15 years ago, and no doctor can offer anything new. It turns out that the only reason for the visit is to pay the doctor so that they can make a living, and to pay a fee to the organization (because the payment for the appointment doesn't all go to the doctor, a large part of it goes to the organization's treasury).
This is not the only example. Large companies claim that their top priority is the well-being of their clients, while in reality, it's ALWAYS a pyramid scheme where some part of the payment always goes into the pockets of the company's executives. And if you look deeper into this system, you realize that some of the payment also goes to taxes for government officials, who, if you take a closer look, are running the same scheme. They claim to be working for the good of society, but if you analyze their actions, you can clearly conclude that their primary goal is to improve their own quality of life and maintain power by any means possible.
It's worth mentioning separately that the system justifies itself through the huge number of rules that are adopted by the participants of the society itself. For example, society tells us that if an ordinary worker works hard and pays taxes, they will have a pension that will allow them to live comfortably in old age... However, in reality, factors emerge in the distant future that explain and justify the reasons why pensions either won't exist or will be so small that it's logical to conclude: the taxes you paid, which were supposed to go towards your future pension, were just a scam. You were simply used, given promises that were never intended to be kept, or they just decided not to fulfill them due to new factors that emerged. At some point, those who made the promises of a "bright future" are faced with a choice: keep their word, follow the promises they made earlier, and sacrifice their own comfort, or change the agreements, justifying them with "new realities" for the sake of preserving their personal comfort. In simple words, it's a scam, but in politics, it's a natural way of acting, and it's considered normal. Overall, I get the impression that "politics" is a way of telling lies and deceiving, which we as a society either accept or demand accountability from our leaders. However, many leaders today are traders and don't like accountability. So, it all comes down to leaders telling us something like: "There's just no money right now. We'll find the money and do the indexation. Hold on here! We wish you all the best, good mood, and good health!" link to the source. A quote from one of the past leaders of Russia is given here as an example. In general, it creates the impression that the same situation is happening everywhere. There is a group of people in any country who hold power and wield it for the sake of their own well-being by suppressing other groups that are not included in the hierarchy of "managers".
With the advent of new internet and artificial intelligence technologies, the process of controlling and filtering opinions has become simpler. Search engines can lower the ranking of websites or articles that are "inconvenient" for the current system. YouTube (Google) has become the largest information network, and we must understand that Google exists with the indirect support of the state, which is managed by the same people who hold power in the country.
I want to mention separately the advertising of other countries as "better" than others. Advertising all over the world tells us about how good it is to live in the USA and that anyone can achieve their dreams in the USA if they work hard enough. The USA has the largest advertising campaign worldwide, spreading the idea of its "undeniable" advantages over other countries through movies and the internet. The USA conducts a "lottery" worldwide for the right to live in the country, shouting about how everyone is equal in the USA (or more equal than in other countries). This advertising leads people to believe that if they come to the USA, their life will improve. But this is a misconception. It would be more accurate to consider the USA as a "mouse trap", and the advertising of its supposedly great standard of living and equality as cheese. In the USA, people have learned to make money from naive ordinary people who believe in advertising. The process of obtaining citizenship or a green card is associated with investing money in the system. Simply to get any documents, newcomers have to pay money literally for "permission" to live on the territory (like everywhere else). Moreover, when coming to the USA, an immigrant is forced to speak a foreign language (in most cases), which puts a HUGE burden on the brain and overloads the person, reducing the quality of life and narrowing socialization. Any foreigner who comes to a country where they don't speak their native language faces this problem. Often, to submit any documents, they have to hire third parties to draw up these papers, which incurs additional expenses. Well, that's enough about the USA... I recommend taking off your rose-tinted glasses about moving to the USA in hopes of a better life, because in the end, it will just lead to your additional exploitation, which you already have enough of in the place where you currently live.
I think that's enough for now, although, of course, there's still a lot to say and examples to give... But now I want to return to work on implementing a beautiful 3D version of the interface for my game icoup.
